Day 1: Arrival in Addis Ababa – A Capital Alive with Culture and Contrasts.
Upon landing in Addis Ababa, Ethiopia’s high-altitude capital, you will be welcomed by your local guide and transferred to your hotel for a chance to refresh and relax. Depending on your arrival time, you’ll embark on an introduction to the city’s rich tapestry of history and modern life. Your exploration may begin at the National Museum of Ethiopia, where you can stand before the ancient remains of “Lucy,” the famous 3.2-million-year-old hominid who reshaped our understanding of human origins. A scenic drive up to Entoto Hill brings sweeping views of the city and leads you to the Menelik II Palace and Entoto Mariam Church, steeped in imperial history. Alternatively, immerse yourself in the vibrant pulse of Addis at a local open-air market, where spices, textiles, and traditional crafts provide a colorful insight into daily Ethiopian life.ACCOMMODATION |Sunspot HotelMEALS |Lunch, Dinner

Day 2: Bahir Dar – Cruising the Coffee-Fringed Shores of Lake Tana.
After breakfast, a short domestic flight whisks you to Bahir Dar, a tropical town nestled on the southern tip of Lake Tana, Ethiopia’s largest lake. Upon arrival, set out on a serene boat cruise across the shimmering waters, watching pelicans glide and fishermen cast their nets from papyrus canoes. Your destination is the Zeghe Peninsula, where a hike beneath a forest canopy rich with wild coffee trees leads to centuries-old monasteries hidden among the foliage. Marvel at the ancient frescoes of Ura Kidane Mehret and other sacred sanctuaries, where monks have preserved religious traditions for over 700 years. After returning to town by boat, unwind at your lakeside hotel as the sun sets over the tranquil waters.

You’ll embark on a 2 to 3-hour guided trek, crossing the Portuguese stone bridge, hiking scenic trails, and navigating a short boat crossing to experience the falls from multiple awe-inspiring angles. Day 4: Overland to Lalibela – A Stop at the Utopian Awura Amba Community
Leaving the verdant shores of Lake Tana behind, today’s journey by road takes you across the highlands to Lalibela, but not before a remarkable cultural stop at the Awura Amba community. This unique, egalitarian village was founded by Zumra Nuru, who envisioned a society based on equality, education, and cooperation, rather than religion or tradition. Learn about their story of resilience as you tour the community-run weaving workshop, school, library, and elderly care home. Their self-sustaining model has brought relative prosperity — and some controversy — among neighboring villages, sparking conversation and reflection. Continue your scenic drive through rural farmlands, passing fields where Ethiopian farmers till the land by hand, and arrive in Lalibela, a town wrapped in mysticism and legend.

With your personal guide, wind through a labyrinth of sunken passageways and hand-carved tunnels connecting 11 monolithic churches, each chiseled directly into the red volcanic rock. Stand beneath the towering pillars of Bete Medhane Alem, the largest rock-cut church in the world, and enter Bete Maryam, where delicate frescoes adorn the walls. Save the most iconic for last — the cross-shaped Bete Giyorgis (Church of St. George), perfectly preserved and set apart from the rest, it is the crown jewel of Lalibela. As the sun dips below the Lasta Mountains, take in a golden-hued view of the sacred landscape a breathtaking end to a spiritual day.
